Application and Practice of Mobile Operation Terminal Technology in Rural Cable Inspection and Maintenance

  • To address the low efficiency, data latency, and inaccuracies of traditional manual inspections and paper-based records, this paper proposes an intelligent rural cable inspection system leveraging mobile terminals and collaborative Apps. The system targets two critical pain points: the wide dispersal of rural equipment (making underground facilities hard to locate) and the difficulty of detecting gas hazards in cable channels. By integrating high-precision positioning, infrared thermography, partial discharge detection, and ultrasonic-based gas monitoring, and by utilizing cloud data analytics with closed-loop ticketing management, the system achieves a digitized and precise inspection workflow. Field applications demonstrate that the system is particularly effective for real-time monitoring and early warning of combustible gases in high-risk cable vaults, effectively preventing fire and explosion accidents while significantly enhancing operational safety and power supply reliability.
