Abstract:
This paper addresses practical challenges in deploying UAV-Based Inspection for transmission lines in mountainous areas, including inadequate safety control, nonstandard data acquisition, and insufficient application of three-dimensional modeling. Drawing on years of inspection experience in mountainous areas, State Grid Jinzhong Power Supply Company develops a practical technical scheme covering safety control and typical inspection operations. For safety control, mandatory vehicle inspections, airspace approval, and dynamic geofencing serve as strict preflight requirements. Routine emergency drills for common faults in mountainous areas further reduce on-site operational risks. For typical inspection operations, the scheme establishes standards for visible-light imaging, increases the usability rate of infrared thermographic images to more than 95%, and applies lidar-based three-dimensional modeling to vegetation encroachment management. It thereby enables closed-loop digital management covering measurement, early warning, and hazard mitigation. Practical application shows that these methods support safe, standardized, and efficient unmanned aerial vehicle inspections of transmission lines in mountainous areas.
