Abstract:
To comprehensively manage the Internet of Things (IoT) cards used in operational metering data collection, oversee all related business processes, enable real-time asset tracking, and reduce asset loss and communication cost waste, a dedicated management and control system was developed. This paper analyzes the management requirements for these collection cards and provides a detailed exposition of the core functional modules of the proposed system, including basic information management, full lifecycle management, status monitoring, and system administration. An innovative feature of the system is its integration with the electricity information collection system to verify the ICCID of collection cards associated with collection terminals, ensuring consistency between registered information and on-site conditions. Furthermore, based on the billing methods of the collection cards and integrated with operational workflows, an idle alarm function was designed. Since its implementation, the system has reduced collection card inventory by over
30000 units and saved approximately 1.08 million yuan annually in communication costs. This has significantly improved the efficiency of metering asset management and asset utilization, playing a positive role in advancing digital transformation.
