Abstract:
In February 2024, there was a historically rare ice-storm event in Jiangsu Province. The overhead lines in the Lianshui area of Huai'an, Jiangsu Province have appeared to varying severity of galloping phenomena due to ice accretion, posing critical threats to grid security. This paper takes the 500-kilovolt Qijie transformation surrounding overhead line in the north of Huai'an as an example, conducts an in-depth analysis of galloping mechanisms, identifies common characteristics and contributing factors, and proposes corresponding anti-galloping mitigation measures. These strategies effectively reduce structural damage to equipment and associated economic losses caused by galloping.
