Application of X-Ray Detection Technology in Power Transmission Maintenance

  • This paper introduces the important role of X-ray inspection technology in power transmission maintenance operations, explores the internal crimping quality of tension line crimping tubes, and lists typical defects of crimping tubes found in actual production operations; an in-depth analysis of the measurement results of 13353 crimping tubes shows that the proportion of steel core broken strands and steel anchor broken in heat-resistant conductor crimping tubes is about 84 times that of ordinary conductors, and the critical defect rate is 6.4 times that of ordinary conductors; then the feasibility of dealing with steel core broken strands and disconnection defects by installing backup wire clamps was verified through mechanical properties (grip strength test) and electrical properties (temperature rise, resistance test) tests; finally, the radiation dose of X-ray sources was tested, and it was found that the radiation dose received by operators in normal work was 0.53~0.63 nSv/h, which is far lower than the industrial standard of 2.5 μSv/h. The radiation dose of X-ray sources in normal work is harmless to the human body.
